Finalist for Scottish Portrait Artist Awards 2021

So thrilled to hear that my painting, “Hubbie with his Mad Lockdown Hair” was shortlisted for the Scottish Portrait Awards, 2021, along with 29 other beautiful portraits. My painting was subsequently part of an exhibition of the 30 shortlisted works at Edinburgh, Dumfries and Glasgow.

My drawing, “I’m Sorry”, a portrait of my granddaughter Frankie was placed in the Long-list for the Scottish Portrait Awards 2022.

Watercolour Demo published in Practique des Arts, June 2021

I was invited to submit a watercolour demonstration by the French art magazine, Pratique des Artes in June 2021. I decided to use a tea-set inherited from my Grandma for my subject. My Grandmother used this tea-set daily during the Second World War while living in London. They lived through the “London Blitz” where they were bombarded with bombs for 56 days. This tea-set must have been used many times to settle the nerves!

The S.A. Artist Magazine invited me to submit an article outlining my methods, inspiration and images of art works created on my iPad. I also submitted a step-by-step demonstration using the app ArtRage.
