I live in Carstairs, Scotland after spending many years in Cape Town, South Africa. I have been painting since 1993, exploring a variety of media through personal experimentation. I have been inspired by Margie Johnson, Jill Trappler, Judith Mason and Paul Keir, through their very generous sharing of their wealth of experience in workshops and lessons. My style of work ranges from figurative through to abstract.
I have participated in various group exhibitions since 1995, held by the South African Society of Artists, Original Cape Art, Art Portfolio and Christopher Moller Art.
My paintings can be found in private collections in South Africa, U.K., U.S.A., Germany and Jordan.
I conduct workshops in watercolour and acrylic painting, iPad drawing and mixed media and have conducted demonstrations of my painting process to the Constantiaberg, Blaawberg and Western Province Art Societies and the Edinburgh Urban Sketchers group.
I am an experienced cruise ship watercolour tutor. I have recently conducted watercolour lessons for passengers onboard Saga, Fred Olsen, Marella, P&O and Ambassador cruises.
My watercolour painting, “Hubbie with his Mad Lockdown Hair” was elected a finalist for the Scottish Portrait Awards 2021 and was on exhibition along with 29 other selected works in Edinburgh, Dumfries and Glasgow.
I run my own Watercolour Painting Tutorial channel on YouTube and regularly add new videos to my channel. Click on the video on the left to see an example of my videos.
